Trump and his are corrupted. The work you do is special.

This is the last post I’ve received. I hope all is well and that I’ll see more soon.

Jess Piper is the best. Trump and his allies are corrupted. Your husband is about to the senator. You’re rural about the mess.

So good to "hear" your voice again, Connie. I've been out of commission for a while, but found myself setting out to find you.

Sharing with grandchild is nothing better.

I always find Homecoming couples so enchanting. Love looking at the pictures my friends post of their children on their special night.

It was always wonderful watching, our now grown, children prepare for their Homecoming dances.

So lovely to share our “old” favorites with children and grands.

If you are able to keep an eye on the rose of sharon for a bit, you might see a hummingbird drinking its nectar. I have one right outside of my home office against the window. I can't help but see the beautiful little birds putting their delicate beaks in the flowers. One of life's little unadorned joys.

I too loved ET - the magic of that movie stays with you forever despite your age, I think! Thank you for the reminder! Perhaps I’ll watch it again this rainy day!

I’ve only ever seen the yellow Rose of Sharon (I’ve always had an affinity with my namesake bloom!) What a beautiful colour in yours.

Connie. I’m feeling like I’m trying to find a new way to be happy in this world. Having you here still helps

There are some things we can never let go of much like ET movies and mugs, old friends, memories of Proms and corsages, and pictures. I recently had to purge my life's treasures as I moved from a larger home of 25 years to a much smaller one. At first, it was heart wrenching but as the days dragged on prior to the movers arrival, even my daughters who had been encouraging me to toss or give away many things were gasping and saying, "Are you sure?" I was because I stored them all in my memory. Really? Who , among my children, will want a Homecoming Queen trophy from 1958, a wedding gift that I used for years as a raised vegetable platter when it was actually a cake pedestal thingy. Large family pictures that stood on the walls in the 1970's have been preserved digitally on my phone. So many other things that at this point have escaped my memories ;therefore, I must not miss them. Get to those boxes, Connie. Just like we need to rid ourselves of so many world and country issues that have sadly been taken from our control, that, too, will come, hopefully sooner than we thought. Fingers crossed for Sherrod!

Thank you for your wise words. I too have a Rose of Sharon that graces our front porch. The migrating hummingbirds have moved on, but now the bumblebees have descended. It’s my morning magic.

A lovely way to start my day is with you and your family. Thank you, Connie!
