Just a quick word, as so many of you are sending such kind notes.
I could not be prouder of this man I love, and I am grateful to all of you who understand why.
We are sad and we are not giving up.

Thank you for sharing him with us for so many years. I’m gutted we’re losing a heavyweight in the fight, but incredibly proud of the work he did. A true leader, with a servant’s heart.
Sherrod still has a role to play in our country. I don’t know where but we still need him.
