I have been following you on Substack but I did not pay for a subscription until now, as I was using extra $$ to donate to Sherrod's campaign. I'd like to think I helped, even though the outcome was not as we expected. I look forward to more posts from His Lovely Wife!

God has blessed you and Sherrod. For some reason this was the outcome. I truly am sorry. And like I’ve heard from the two of you I will hold my head up high knowing I voted for the correct team. Please a couple days to enjoy family. Thanks for being my friends. 👍🏻🌼🍅🫑🐾

Your essays give me such hope and remind me of the good in people and in the world. Thank you. I will think of those children, who will be voters before we know it. <3

Connie,

My wife and I wrote many post cards for your husband during the summer month through Tony the Democrat. Give our sincere gratitude to Senator Brown for his service over the years. Now you will have him to yourself for awhile. We are in dismay that our fellow Americans have elected Donald Trump as our 47th President. We enjoyed a quiet day today before getting back to work.

Thank you, Senator Brown, for always being such a standup guy!

I am filled with shock and sadness today, but I am heartened to remember that good people like you and the Senator will still exist in this country and that we are stronger together.

My husband and I moved to New Mexico from Ohio in January, in part because the politics of the state were beginning to scare us. Sherrod Brown is a good man, and the citizens of Ohio are much poorer today for losing him as an advocate and a champion.

Keep up the good fight, both of you. It is my hope that eventually, this wrong will be righted.

Prayers for you and the Senator. We are all in tears this morning but know we will do what we can to move forward.

I was feeling so anxious yesterday. Seeing the news this morning, I am devastated, remember so clearly how it felt in 2016. Almost unreal but sadly he/they will destroy us but to know just how many people that call themselves Americans are either completely stupid or evil. Not sure how I proceed, feeling completely helpless. The loss of the Senate seat held and served so well by Sherrod for so many years is just another part of the devastation I feel.

Your words more often than any one else on this app bring tears to my eyes. Thank you for constantly reminding us of that spark of humanity that remains burning in each of us.

just adding my sympathy to Sherrod and you for the election result. It is as heartbreaking and mind-boggling as the many previous comments say. The only silver lining in the dark cloud is that soon you and Sherrod will be able to enjoy a normal life again... perhaps not the worst of consolation prizes. Sending you both Agape (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agape... that's the highest form of love, not 'agape' --- mouth open in shock... although maybe a little of both).

BUT will there be "normal life" moving forward, I don't see it.

🥲🥲🥲 I’m so glad you have each other and your family to support you. I honestly thought the voters in Ohio would not be fooled by all the lies in this campaign.
