Bill Coffin was a friend back in the day and he and I opined occasionally on matters of the Spirit.
As a native Buckeye, I am celebrating your and Sherrod's good spirit as you complete this campaign and hoping, praying for a successful outcome. Sending you these vibes all the way from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico where we now live technically as ex-pats, but still pats. We mailed in our ballots several weeks ago to our legal U.S. residence state, not Ohio unfortunately.
Sending good energy to Ohio. I donated to Sherrod’s campaign from Florida. For all those attack ads I wish you could counter with the Halloween encounters. What great memories. Will watch results tonight and keep you both in my thoughts. Stronger together.
A knock on my door in the heart of York county revealed a young woman canvassing for Harris. As we talked she told me she was born in Ohio. That naturally led to talking about Sherrod's campaign and our shared hope of him winning the election. And that led to our mutual admiration society for you, Connie. Community reaches across state lines too. Wishing you and Sherrod much luck.
Thank you Connie and Sherrod for your tireless efforts to win the race, for caring deeply about our state and country, and for doing it all with a sense of humor. I've so enjoyed reading your stories this last year.
My husband and I are so used to ignoring the nasty campaign ads, we didn’t think much about it until our 9-year-old daughter said. “Sherrod Brown is a bad person!” And we quickly had to explain to her that no, Sherrod Brown is the GOOD guy and ads don’t always tell the truth. Now she says, “Vote for Sherrod!”
Thank you! It’s not easy whether it is democracy, marriage or any relationship…but communication and love as a baseline are primary in working out the issues faced together.
I have anxiety about the presidential and senate races. I can only hope that my wishes and yours are fulfilled.
Wishing the best out come for Sen. Brown.

As I read about Martin Sheen leading the crowds singing “America the Beautiful,” I paused and sang it to myself. Now I’m crying.
Thank you once again, dear Connie, for helping us breathe and reminding us what true patriotism is.

Best of luck today, Connie! As a former Ohio girl, and one who read your Plain Dealer columns from the start, I'm rooting for you and Sherrod!
Keeping you in our thoughts today. Fingers crossed tight!

Following closely! Absolutely the best from Ohio! Proud to support you from Orangeburg, SC.
Born and raised in Ohio - and although no longer a resident, my heart is filled with hope for Senator Sherrod Brown’s re-election tonight!
An honest man who cares about a country for all!
