What a fantastic column! Thank for sharing your wise insights. America needs you and Sherrod more than ever. I know it sounds like a crazy suggestion, but please will one of you consider running for the open Ohio senate seat? I hope that Ohioans will see the error of their ways, and realize that they’ve made bad choices in the last two senatorial elections, and they won’t commit a three-peat.
It was a horrible night for Ohio, for Montana, and for the nation. It does my heart good to know that you are both going to be all right - forge ahead...both of you.
Thank you Connie and Sherrod for your leadership, wisdom and service to our community! The voters across the country made poor choices for our country. Sherrod’s loss was surprising and devastating. We all need to “breathe” but it isn’t easy.
Ohioans lost so much when Sherrod didn't get reelected. My husband and I, and our friends, are among his many disappointed supporters. But we'll carry on the best we can, working toward that someday when Ohio is a swing state again. Talk about hope!
Dear Connie, Your columns frequently bring forth tears and laughter, both are needed and freeing. Carrying around repressed emotions without appropriate ways to express them is a weight too uncomfortable to bear. I love your advice about bravery and I hope that you won’t mind if I use it going forward. Without realizing it, I have applied a similar belief many times in my life and it is so meaningful now. My personal saying as I am faced with sudden or unplanned detours in life is to “just keep walking and you will find the path you need to follow. “ I know it sounds trite but it has helped me navigate difficult times and lead me to often “ take the road less travelled”. You and Sherrod are beacons of light in this dark time. Thank you
My heart broke that next day. Of course I was upset at the national level. I just couldn't reconcile that my fellow ohioans, my friends let us down. I saw Sherrod on Morning Joe and I hoped he was going to tell us his next move. I will wait with my heart wide open to hear your next chapter like a sequel I can't wait to be finished. I left him a message. Please come back. We need you both.
SO sad. I wrote many postcards to help get out the Sherrod Brown vote! Idea: what about Vance's soon to be vacated seat? That would be poetic justice, please go for it!
Thank you and your family for your service to this nation
Thank you, this is beautiful and so real and inspiring.

I really admire you and your fabulous husband too! Sherrod will continue to do great things for our country. Enjoy your downtime now.

Yes! "Act brave and the courage will come." Great advice!

Your inner guidance is the opposite of trite, Diana. It has sustained you.

"To be truly radical is to make hope possible rather than make despair convincing."
Thank you for being truly radical. ❤️
I love Sherrod. Ohio’s working class lost a friend and a warrior. I’m an Ohioan and I fear what this state has done.
Full of hope. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful post…. Wishing you and Sherrod the absolute best as your new future unfolds… ✨
